After two-day talks between NATO foreign ministers, Estonia's representative, Urmas Reinsalou, said: “The message is clear: all NATO allies are aware that the beast also wants to have control of the Western Balkans and we must - through practical support- to help these countries survive”
The focus of today's talks was Bosnia, as well as the former Soviet republics of Moldova and Georgia -- which have regions occupied by Russian troops.

Secretary NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, said these countries must be supported now.
“These countries are affected by Russian influence in different ways from Ukraine, but it is better to support now than to see developments go completely wrong as we have seen with the invasion of Ukraine earlier this year”, Stoltenberg added.
European leaders have expressed their fears that the southern and eastern countries of the continent would lose their patience waiting for membership in the European Union and NATO, which would leave them open to instability, as well as Russian and Chinese efforts to gain influence.
The Bosnian Foreign Minister, who was invited to join NATO's meeting, said she was concerned about Russian goals towards her country, warning: “We have Russian representatives in our government and the division in our country is deep”, she said. /Periscopi/
