Speaking at the river summit, Berisha has said that Kosovo is increasingly sensitive to floods and droughts. According to her, both can have profound effects on citizens.
With the growth of water impact, water quality will increasingly become more problematic if it is not addressed in its many sources, such as household, industry, agriculture and the degradation of water collectors” Berisha has said.
On the other hand, she has said that Kosovo has good policies and legislation for environmental protection and rivers, but, according to her, there is no implementation on the ground.
In this sense, if we talk about Kosovo's policy and legislation in the hydrick sector, Kosovo has adequate high-level strategies and co-ordination, but it needs to shift its focus towards implementation on the ground and to rigorously monitor giving permission to economic operators, for such construction as these hydro-power plants” it added.
She has also said that water resources in Kosovo are not equally shared among citizens.
