If early elections are called on in current conditions I fear Serbs would boycott and that would not help resolve the situation, Kosovo Serb European Movement Chairman Rada Trajkovic estimates

Trajkovic calls on President Vjosa Osmani to influence Prime Minister Albin Kurti for “to withdraw or postpone” the decision about the plates, “as recommended and expected by the authority of the United States of America”.

Kosovo's <x0 think-tanks should stop giving more reasons for the transition and conflict, and should show good will towards Serbs in the north”, she said.

The Serbian politician from Kosovo estimates that “only then will you be in a position to assess whether it is safe to call new elections under those”.

Should it proceed with early elections, as is before, Trajkovic does not appreciate positive development. “instead, this would escalate the” crisis.

The best “solution would be the appointment of a temporary administration for the four municipalities in the north until the stabilisation of the security situation and when the functioning of the” institutions is restored.

The elections could only then be held in a somewhat normal and orderly environment, where security risks” would be dim, Rada Trajkovic concludes in an answer to the online newspaper Reporter.net.

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, at a meeting with representatives of political parties in Kosovo, said that, in all likelihood, early elections in Kosovo's four northern municipalities will be held on December 18th.

The Serbian List and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo did not attend this meeting with President Osmani.

Of the representatives of the Serbian political parties, Nenad Rasic was also at the meeting from the Democratic Progressive Party, as well as Aleksandar Jablanovic.

Nenad Rasic said the call of early elections “is likely to be used to raise tensions and conflicts, and even to escape even involuntarily violent acts”.

Among other things, he also indicated that he has asked President Osmani to postpone the decision on new elections for a certain time, as well as has called for the Kosovo government to postpone the decision on the plates, respectively, fines expected to be launched on November 21st, as Radio Free Europe reported in the Serbian language.

What did Osman say?

President Osmani has warned that December 18th of this year could be the last date for holding extraordinary elections in the four northern municipalities, following the chairmanship's resignation as a result of the Serbian List's decision to exit the country's institutions, reports the online newspaper Reporter.net.

That date, the president indicated, is also the constitutional deadline for organising these extraordinary elections.

These statements were given after meeting for consultation with the leaders of political parties in Kosovo.

“Sic knows after the resignation of four municipalities in the country's north it is constitutional and legal duty of the country's president to make the election declaration. As a result, today's meeting where all political parties were invited today were invited to discuss the issue of the”.

“As far as legal terms are concerned, the law envisions from the moment of resignation the elections should be announced within 10 days, meaning that tomorrow is the deadline and that they should be held within 30 to 45 days of the moment of resignation. The last date they could be held is 18 December”, Osmani said at the media conference.

And all necessary preparations should be made along with all our security institutions, so that all go without tension and everything is quiet”.

The president also said that December 18th has been discussed, but are also awaiting confirmation by the Central Election Commission, that everything will be okay with this date.

Of all the parties present, I asked the opinion about December 18th, as mentioned is the last date allowed, since it would allow greater maneuvering space for the CEC to make all necessary preparations”.

We'll go on the 18th as soon as we get the right confirmation from the CEC that everything is in order with this” date, Osmani said.
