“War has not begun in February 2022, but in the spring of 2014. We had intelligence information that Russia was planning to attack Ukraine”, he said.
Stoltenberg added that they were well prepared in advance and that they have reflected on the intelligence NATO had had in 2014.
On the other hand, he said NATO would soon be able to reinforce the already built-up powers if needed, for Ukraine.
Secretary NATO also praised the role Romania had played in mediating support from other allies. He added there may be increased aid to Romania from meetings in the coming days.
When the foreign ministers meet today and tomorrow, we are very sure that we will increase our support”, Stoltenberg said. /Periscopi/
