He said investigations are continuing on this blast and that their results should be expected, but that our <x0-analyse preliminary analyses suggest the incident was likely triggered by a Ukrainian air defence missile that was launched to protect Ukrainian territory against Russian attacks”.

Those statements he made at the press conference following the emergency meeting of member states Wednesday in Brussels, after on November 15th two people were killed in Poland by a rocket Varshava said was produced by Russia.

This is not Ukraine's fault. Russia bears final responsibility as it continues its illegal fight against Ukraine”, Stoltenberg said.

Stoltenberg also added that there are no indicators that Russia is planning an attack on NATO and that they must remain “vigient, calm and closely co-ordinated”, as that <x2-war in Ukraine could have consequences for NATO territory”.

The NATO ambassadors' meeting in Brussels was called at the request of Poland, a coalition member, and chaired by Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who will then hold a press conference.

Reuters news agency, citing two European diplomats, said the meeting is held on the basis of Article 4 of the NATO Treaty.

According to this article, member states can raise concern when they feel that their <x0 territorial integrity, political independence or security is at stake.

The Polish Foreign Ministry said a rocket produced by Russia fell in the village of Przewowow, a village in eastern Poland about six kilometers from the Ukrainian border, killing two people on November 15th, following a day of Russian mass grants in Ukraine.

Russia denied its missiles had hit Polish territory, saying the reports were “a deliberate provocation” to scale the situation.

The Russian Defence Ministry said on November 16th that its attacks in Ukraine the previous day were no closer than 35km from the Polish border, the RIA news agency reported.

Biden said on November 16th that the missile was unlikely to have been launched by Russia, citing information about the missile trajectory. Poland put its army in a state of increased readiness, following an emergency meeting held by its National Security Council.
