Serbian judges, prosecutors officially resign, Albanians take over emergency cases

The wave of Serb resignations in Kosovo institutions in the north continues. Judges, prosecutors and other judicial personnel have also submitted their resignations. Even though the court chief told the media that the Judiciary Council has tried to assist in specific cases by appointing the leader, Zogaj, however, stresses that parts [...] have still been violated.
This is the announcement I made two days ago. Today, judges who yesterday have not submitted their resignations to the Kosovo Judiciary Council have done so through official emails. Our Albanian colleagues and administrative workers are still working in court, and all administrative staff and Serbian judges have resigned. Now we just wait for the way we'll handle the cases and equipment and the office we've used. I am speaking in my name, I am not coming back, and I leave the rest to politicians”, said Appeals Judge in Pristina and Judiciary Council member in Pristina Nikola Kabacic.
Everything I had to say yesterday, and we talked to my colleagues all morning about working together and we drafted a good plan not to miss any deadline. Our Albanian colleagues have taken over our cases, cases that are urgent, and I think that at the moment they have a big problem with how to organise all”, said Ljiljana Stevanovic, chairman of the Constitutional Court in Mitrovica, adding that they have tried to help as much as they could.
“Today we've made arrangements with colleagues and delivered classes. All stopped working and only Albanian colleagues remained”, the judge stressed.
When asked if she would ever consider returning to her work in court, Stevanovic replied that the question was an inappropriate “at this time”.
I don't want to comment on this and these things need to be fixed. Since we've been here, we've shown the way the Brussels Agreement<x1 is being violated.
Police officers from the north this morning delivered their equipment to the North Mitrovica station near the court. They arrived in small but individual groups as well. There are no police officers left today to patrol the northern roads. Even Serbs employed as EULEX's external security resigned.
Meanwhile, ten Serbian List deputies in Kosovo's parliament resigned from their posts. The movement finally arrived this morning after years of failed promises of resignation, even after it provided specific details to do so.
All Kosovo Serb political and institutional representatives, including the police and judiciary, decided to resign from their positions in all Kosovo institutions in the north. Even though some officials and employees said they would hand over their irrevocable resignations, they set two conditions for their return for Kosovo's prime minister to withdraw the decision on (ri) the registration of license plates in the RKS and form the Association of Serbian Communists. .
A new license crisis is under way in Kosovo. The Kosovo government has made a decision to implement in phases its spring decision to remove remaining Serbian city plates in Kosovo from field vehicles until April 21st. This is rejected by Belgrade and the Republika Srpska List, which claim that KM plates remain, so they demand the return of so-called KS status neutral signs.
International diplomats support the Kosovo authorities' decision, showing it is part of the Brussels Agreement, while also urging Pristina to postpone all actions for the next 10 months. However, the first phase of ʹletting paper re-launched, causing police from the northern region and mayors to announce at the beginning of this week that they will not implement that decision. The north region police commander, who was followed by a massive evacuation from institutions, was subsequently suspended. /Kosev
