Romania's Foreign Minister, Bogdan Aurescu, prior to the EU foreign ministers' meeting, has encouraged Kosovo and Serbia to continue dialogue and that the situation in northern Mitrovica is under control.
At this meeting, where Kosovo will be reported, Aurescu said that today he will reconfirm support for the European Union's enlargement with the countries of the Western Balkans, until he also spoke to northern Kosovo.
It is very important that tensions in the northern part of Kosovo be stopped. And from this perspective, from the overall EU involvement for the Western Balkans, I think that the summit that will take place on December 6th in Tirana will be very important. We continue to encourage dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and hope that the situation will be kept under control. Also welcome is the aid package for energy security support in the Balkans, which is under way. As you know, it amounts to 1 billion euros, and it is very important to have this support for the” region, he said.
