Home raise prices in Kosovo, but even rent prices have increased by around 25 per cent -- an increase expected to continue.

At the Kosovo Construction Association and real estate agencies, they say rising sales prices and housing rents have occurred because of inflation and increased construction materials. They even point out that this increase in building materials prices is almost 100 percent compared to 2020.

Burim Halili, official of one of the Real estate agencies in the capital, said there is an increase in the price of rent and housing sales by 25 percent.

Halili said there is expected to be price hikes again, as construction materials have price hikes.

“We recently have price hikes almost everywhere, in all products, but in particular we have to sell. What has greatly influenced the rising prices in sales is because construction materials are growing as armor, concrete and all... About the sale has been raised to a price of around 20-25%, the same rent, but what has affected the sale is the increase of material”, Halili said.

According to him, there is still to be price hikes.

This is expected to increase because construction materials are up, in particular there are weapons for 50%, so I think we're in that process of raising and I think it takes approximately 5-6 months to increase the stable price based on materials they have, we have objects that were built earlier, they're still able to offer the market prices they had earlier. From the Kosovo Builders' Association, they say increasing construction materials is almost 100 percent compared to 2020. Faton Hoxha of this association reasoned on the price of rent.

Xhavit Berisha has also expressed concern over the price hikes. He told Kosovo Press that the country is in economic crisis and these price hikes cannot afford citizens.

Bashkim Sylaj, resident of the capital, said that rising prices is a heavy burden for citizens.
