The Agency for Prevention of Corruption (APK) will address the information that the Minister for Communities and Kthim, Serbian List Chairman Goran Rakic, is building an object over 2m euros in the country's north.
Aleksandar Arsenijevic and Stefan Veljkovic, Serbian activists from the Serb civic initiative “Monetary” a week ago visited a 9.5 gold parcel where a building was being built, which they said was Rakiqit's.
“The Agency for Prevention of Corruption confirms that it has already accepted the information, which will be treated according to legal terms defined with the legislation in force”, said in an APK response to the Journal Express.
The construction facility, currently seven-way, according to two Serbian activists, could be worth over 2m euros.
And we have asked Mr. Buleskay, director of the Anti-Corruption Agency. To all of us, we ask the question: Who protects Minister Rakiq and where did this money come from for the construction of such objects? From wages or something else, let the competent body be investigated”, Arsenijevic said.
Rakiq has not responded to requests to comment on the issue.
In January, the APK has initiated an investigation procedure against Rakiqi over the false declaration of property.
Aside from the 50 thousand euros it says keeps at a bank in Belgrade, Rakic has declared in the APK that he does not own anything else.
In the recent declaration of property, Rakic has declared 9.50 gold land worth 350,000 euros, which he says is his father's property. In addition, he has declared three residences worth 25 thousand, 30,000 and 40 thousand euros, which he also said were his father's.
