A racist-based incident suspended work in the French parliament as an extreme right-wing MP told a colourful colleague to return to Africa”, while he was talking about immigration policies.
After this event, Gregore de Furnas from the Marine Le Pen party tried to justify himself by saying his call was not for MP Carlos Martens Bilongo, but for immigrants trying to enter Europe across the sea.
MP Bilongo named these shameful statements, while Prime Minister Borne, who was in the hall at the moment of the incident, said there is no room in the French Parliament for racism.
While the National Assembly will meet during Friday to decide on the measures to be taken against Gregore de Furnas.
At the time that MP Furnas issued the racist call, the head of the assembly, Yael Brown-Pivet, asked who spoke, while other colleagues asked her to come out, thus forcing the session to cease.
