Proposed date and location for next meeting of the two assemblies

At the gathering of two assemblies, the chairman of Albania's Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, has proposed that the next meeting of Kosovo and Albanian deputies be held on 10 June 2023 in Prizren, on the 145th anniversary of the Albanian League of Prizren.

While during his speech, he mentioned former KLA leaders located in The Hague, saying the legitimacy of the heroic war must be protected.

“Today the KLA commanders are detained in the same prison as those who ordered massacres in Kosovo, Srebrenica and elsewhere on the basis of several peace charges, a report of a resolution to those who wrote it, and to those who voted it. To the commanders, a group of us will go to The Hague tomorrow and wish you peace on the day of independence... Remembering that the victory was reached by the West in the arm and must be closed and sanctioned in the alliance with the European Union and NATO, parliamentary colleagues, while next year celebrating the 145th anniversary of the Prizren Albanian League, I would propose that the next meeting of our two municipalities be in Prizren, on June 10th 2023 148x1>, he said.

The chief of deputies of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Abelard Tahiri, has spoken of, under which the history built with sacrifice cannot be changed by anyone.

“Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, and fellow fighters are living heroes of our freedom and independence who are today being held away from us unjustly. But as we have never doubted our freedom, we have no doubt that they will be back among us and that truth will triumph over truth and justice over injustice. The history we've made with blood and sacrifice no one can ever change with anything. We are forever grateful to Albania that it is with us when justice seems impossible and we are very grateful”, Tahiri said.

While the head of Albania's Democratic Party of Albania parliamentary group, Enkeleed Alibeaj, said they support the heroic truth of the Kosovo Albanians, until he stressed they are pending review of the resolution they have proposed to condemn the Serb genocide in Kosovo.

The Democratic Party will see Serbia only with the eyes of Kosovo. We are for peace between the Serbian and Albanian people, but without wavering we think that Kosovo and its people have the right to proclaim this peace.

Albania's MP for parliament, Fatmir Mediu, has spoken of dialogue between Kosovo and Albania, who said Albanians should be united in such important processes for Kosovo.

He added that Serbia, supported by Russia, consistently provokes northern Kosovo.

The chairman of the Vetevendosje Movement parliamentary group Mimoza Kusari-Lila said that meetings between the two municipalities should be held more frequently.

Also, Democratic League of Kosovo MP chief Arben Gashi said Kosovo and Albania share European routes.

He stressed that the necessity of deepening co-operation between the two countries.

This is the first meeting of two assemblies and is being held in tyrants on the eve of marking Albania's anniversary of Independence.
