He prevented the visa proposal, Spain's MPJ for Periscope: No Comment on Negotiations

On Wednesday this week, the deadline for EU countries that, with the so-called silent procedure, had expired, presented their remarks to Czechia's proposal for visa liberalisation for Kosovo. It was reported that the obstacle should be Spain and Slovakia, as well as two non-recognitional countries of our state. Periscop has contacted the ministry [...]

According to REL reports, Spain was the one who submitted remarks, while several other states demanded more clarification about the Czech proposal, which leads the European Union Presidency.

Regarding this development, Periscope has sent several questions to the address of Spanish diplomacy, what remarks it is about, when we can have a green light from Spain for visas and whether we will have recognition of Kosovo in the nearest period.

Elena Aljarilla, from the Information Office at the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, complained about Periscope Just because we can say we don't comment on the ongoing negotiations.

Czechia's proposal was that entry into force of visa liberalisation for Kosovo be linked to functionalisation of the travel system E TIAS, as France requested, but at the same time set the date for strengthening the decision: “no later than December 1, 2023”

While a country that has changed its stance on Kosovo visas is the Netherlands, which was earlier a skeptical Pod.

This country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that in Kosovo they have seen progress in fighting corruption, while praising Kurti Government for progress in the area of reforms.

“Handana can now agree to visa liberalisation, as commission update and progress report show a positive” trend.

We have seen mainly progress in the fight against corruption and organised crime, migration and border management and the fight against terrorism. We praise the progress made in the reform agenda by the government Kurti”, the Netherlands' MPJ response to Clankosova says.

In response, it is said that this Kosovo progress must continue and that the Dutch government will monitor progress in this regard.

“It is very important that Kosovo further harmonise its visa policy with EU visa policy”, the Netherlands Foreign Affairs Ministry has indicated./Minian Calitary ' PERISKIPI/
