The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, after completing consultations with political parties and with the CEC, has set December 18th, the date for holding extraordinary elections for mayors: Northern Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Leposaviq and Zvecan.
” The Kosovo Republic Central Election Commission is directed to take all necessary actions to organise and hold the elections for mayor of the municipalities: Northern Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Leposavic and Zvecan, in line with this decision and the law in power”, says in President Osmani's decision on the appointment and announcing the date of the extraordinary elections for mayor of four municipalities in the country's north.
After meeting with representatives of political parties, President Osmani has suggested that he will run an international partner requirement for election monitoring and greater international participation in this election process.
President Osmani has also stressed that security institutions will take all measures so that citizens indiscriminately feel protected, secure and realised their constitutional rights.
