Former Kosovo Police General Director Rashit Qalaj has spoken about striping uniforms by Serbian members of the Kosovo Police, who has said such a decision is the wrong “and at the expense of the local community”.
He has said the Serbian state is straining the situation, however, according to him the Kosovo Police will manage this challenge.
“Normically affecting the tension of the situation, but I believe that Kosovo Police will manage this challenge that is not easy”, so has declared former Kosovo Police Director Rashit Qalaj to Dukajini Portal.
On the other hand, he has stressed that Serb members of the police have the right to resign from this institution, but they have a legal obligation to hand over equipment, which is the property of the Kosovo police, in the reverse they could “face the 34x1> law.
However, according to Qalajt, Kosovo police have operational plans to manage such cases.
Significantly, he has indicated that the community living there needs local police.
The community that lives there needs local cops who will take care of order and law there and serve the local community. However, it is the decision they have made, it is the wrong decision, driven by the politics and state of Serbia”, has ended Qalaj.
