On Tuesday, the plane, which was transporting puppys from New Orleans to different shelters, made an emergency landing at the Western Lakes golf field in Pewaukee.
All the dogs and three people on board suffered injuries, but none of them were in danger of life.
Dogs are now under the supervision of veterinarians, the Association of Human Animals said.
The plane was severely damaged after crossing the trees. The wings were completely removed and almost 300 liters of fuel poured out.
It's unclear what caused the plane crash. The crash is under investigation by the National Transport Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, reports Guardian.
