The director of the Office for Kosovo in the Serbian Government, Petar Petkovovic, has accused Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti of giving fatal shots to the Brussels Agreement and normalisation of reports between Pristina and Belgrade.
So has Petkovic reacted to the statement of the majority Serb municipalities Kosovo prime minister has given to reporters after the Berlin Process summit, which was held on November 3rd.
“With his statement he has shown that he is not interested in forming association, but also in the dismissal of regional police director Nenad Djurovic, Kurti dealt fatally with the Brussels Agreement and co-operation on normalising reports between Belgrade and Pristina”, Petkovic said during a news conference on November 4th.
On 3 November in Berlin, during the response to journalists' questions about association, Kurti said there are no Serb municipalities in Kosovo, but Serb-run municipalities.
He added that the agreement on association has not exceeded the “the Constitutional Court of Kosovo”.
There are no municipalities on ethnic grounds, but there are municipalities where a community is a majority. These are two different things”, Kurti said.
Kosovo and Serbia, under the dialogue mediated by the European Union, have reached the Association Agreement in 2013. In 2015, the Constitutional Court of Kosovo said some parts of the agreement were contrary to the Constitution, adding that they could be harmonised through legal acts.
But authorities in Kosovo refuse to implement the Association Agreement, arguing it is harmful to Kosovo.
