Opposition calls government fraud the Law of Salaries

Opposition parties in the country have accused the Government of failing to take action against the departure of health professionals from Kosovo.

This year alone, 191 health professionals who have left the public sector, where some have gone to the private sector and others abroad.

But, on the other hand, from the majority, say the government has left tools for the Law of Salaries, which, at the time it is voted, will go into effect immediately, without the need for budget revision.

For the opposition position, the departure of health professionals is disturbing, which express the conviction that the Law of Salaries may very little lower the number of doctors ' escape.

Vetevendosje Movement MP Mirsad Shkretta said that with the government's actions, it is working on preventing the departure of health professionals, either with the creation of working conditions, but also with the Law of Salaries.

The directory is optimistic that in next year's budget, there will be means for implementing the Law of Salaries.

“Precisely in the 2023 budget, it is thought that the budget costs that will cover the actual wage law, which will in fact have a salary increase in the health sector. One fact that the opposition has not handled or mentioned is that the Government has left many tools in accounting, which should, in fact, be good news because the conscience of this case means that the moment the Law of the Gentiles enters into force, there is a quantity of tools that would be used to conform the law to pay”, the Shkrat stated.

But Alliance for the Future of Kosovo deputy (AAK), Shemsedin Dresaj, has provided several figures for the evacuation of health professionals from the public sector.

Dresaj said that on the basis of a questionnaire, the low salary is one of the reasons they are abandoning Kosovo.

This is a very worried phenomenon and it should be worried about the management of the country, because we face two problems; one is the flight of health professionals abroad and the second their departure from the public sector to the private one. From 2018 to 2022 alone, we have more than 600 doctors who have left their jobs. What is most worrying is that this year, it records 191 health professionals who have left the public sector. A significant portion of them have come out, while the rest have gone from the public sector to the private sector. Usually, when they release their job, they become a questionnaire, and what is worrying is that the two causes that make it possible is that 69 percent of the cases of leaving the public sector are due to low payments and unemployment”, Dreshai has indicated.

Dress is not optimistic that the Law of Salaries will be in the 2023 budget.

In the best version, it won't improve, so the Law of Salaries is a country's immune move to solve the country's economic crisis problem. Until now in the budget we have, it doesn't actually figure out the wage law and unfortunately I can't say a good word about this” budget, he said.

While Democratic League of Kosovo deputy (LDK), Armend Zemaj, calls the government's promises about the Law of Salaries a new fraud.

Zemaj does not hope the Law of Salaries will be included in next year's budget.

This is irresponsible in part of commitments but also declarative. It spent a year in the promise of this government, which in March the Law of the Salaries will come, was said to come in June and was recently said to come in September, and last year and we don't. What's most scandal in executive actions is that it's not estimated that in budgetary law, nor the cost of the new wage law for 2023, so this is a next fraud, which burdens institutional life in the sense of not moving salaries in the public sector, but also in other account sectors that many individuals that are necessary to carry out tasks and responsibilities in our institutions are leaving their jobs for a better life in the West<1>, Zemaj said.
