Official: Trump announces candidacy for president in 2024

Trump has launched his third bid for the White House, declaring that: “America's recovery begins right now”.

Trump's announcement comes after several of his Republican colleagues blamed him for the party's poor performance in last week's medium-term elections, writes the BBC, broadcasts Klankosova.tv.

Speaking to guests in his private club Mara-Lago's ballroom in Palm Beach, Trump said that: “We are a fallen nation. For millions of Americans, the last two years under the leadership of Joe Biden have been a time of pain, hardship, anxiety and despair”.

Current President Joe Biden, who defeated Trump two years ago, has said he too could run for re-election in 2024.
