Former American President Donald Trump's Twitter account has been returned to the platform.
The account, which Twitter banned following the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, returned after CEO and new Twitter owner Elon Musk posted a Twitter poll Friday evening asking platform users if Trump should return to Twitter.
The people spoke. Trump will return”, Musk wrote on Twitter on Saturday night.
Final results of Saturday evening showed 51.8 percent pro and 48.2 percent counter. The poll included 15 million votes.
Trump was previously the most influential and controversial user, with almost 90 million followers.
He has said earlier that he will remain on his platform, Social Truth, instead of being reunited on Twitter, but a change in his approach could have major political implications. The former president announced this month that he would seek the republic's presidential nomination in 2024, aiming to become only the second general commander ever elected in two non-resistant mandates.
Asked on Saturday what he thought about buying Twitter from Musk and his future on the platform, Trump praised Musk, but questioned whether the site would survive its current crises.
