“Murat e poly to us” -Kosovo's authorities criticise Haxhiu's plan for partitioning the ministry: You're hurting us.

The Department of Social Policy and Family (DPSF) is the structure which, at the Government level, is responsible for developing primary and secondary legislation, drafting social policies, monitoring, monitoring, inspection of the QPS (Social Centres for Social Affairs) 38 at the country level, licensing individual social service providers, licensing legal subjects offering social services and the organisation and management of residential housing for children and adults.

The League of Social Work Centres Kosovo says it has been informed by information tools that the social Policy and Family Department structures (DPSF) will be divided into two ministries, and this will be the next act, which will meet the work of the QPS and the future of social protection in general.

According to the League of Social Affairs Centres Kosovo, today MPPT Minister Iron Murati has declared that from January 2023 social services will be passed to the Ministry of Justice, while Social Policy will remain at the MFPT.

The League of Social Affairs Centres Kosovo considers this initiative uncontaminated, which has not been consulted with interest parties, and much more will not be useful in advancing social services in the right direction, as these two components are being divided into two parts and the focus on social policy and social services will be shifted to a lower level of attention and decision making.

The “This action affects progress so far, damages the QPS, because it creates a confusion in the process of co-ordination and reporting.

MFPT Minister Mr. Iron Murati, even despite many requests for written-shaped meetings, despite the presentation of the plight of the QPS in any possibility we've had, has not been able to organise such a meeting with the structures of the Kosovo Social Work Centre League”, it is said in response to this centre.

In response, it is said that Justice Minister Ms. Albulen Haxhiu, where it presents a part of the DPSF as being passed into the competence of this ministry, states that after re-organising the DPSF, I will establish a task force for a detailed analysis that will serve for the conception and development of reform in the area of social protection.

The League of Social Affairs Centres Kosovo considers that such an analysis would have to be done before such a decision is made to separate the DPSF and the passage of responsibilities for social services to the Ministry of Justice and not after the implementation of the act.

“We (Login of the Centres for Social Affairs Kosovo) ask the two ministries of the line to assess once again the situation in the area of social welfare, not to take uncontaminated and urgent action that will affect the progress achieved for years.

The League of Social Affairs Centres Kosovo, the important party of interest, requires the respective ministries to invite all parties of interest including the QPS League, civil society organisations, the academic world, international organisations focused on social protection to sit down and review and re-evaluate and make valid recommendations for this re-organity and established reform”.

The League of Social Affairs Centres Kosovo is open to co-operating and offering all its expertise in the process.
