Places in Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming have already opened up for voters participating in the US Muslim elections, where it will be decided to control the American Congress from January. Most of these countries -- Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming -- had supported Republican Party candidate Donald Trump for the 2020 presidential elections, reports the BBC.
Places earlier opened in Washington, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Ohio, North Carolina, and West Virginia.
In the last two years, the two chambers of Congress, the House of Representatives and the Senate have been controlled by the Democrats.
But, this year, all seats in the U.S. House of Representatives are in the race this year, along with about a third of the Senate's seats.
Republicans will have to take five seats to get the majority in the House of Representatives and only one to control the Senate.
Prescients and non-party polls say the Republicans are more likely to win the majority in the House of Representatives, while greater war is expected for control of the Senate.
The loss of any room would undermine the American President Joe Biden's agenda. But, as chief executive, Beden, however, has the power of veto, no matter who takes over Congress.
The United States of America has a highly decentralised election system, as local officials are responsible for supporting the vote and counting the results, while states certified them.
As not all states vote in the same way and the race for some seats is expected to be tight, the final results can take time.
Some countries, such as Pennsylvania, have already warned that it may take days to count every vote, while experts say there is an opportunity for Americans to go to bed on election night without knowing who won. / REL
