Meeting of two countries, Konjufca: Serbia aims to partition Kosovo

Kosovo Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca, during the joint assembly of two Kosovo-Albanian municipalities, has also spoken of Serbia's “goal of destabilising”.

He said Serbia is fighting Kosovo “from inside and outside, without selecting instruments”.

There is no doubt that much of importance has been achieved for our nation, but the road was long and not easy. Two major events have opened up the chapter of great opportunities for our nation. First was the arrival of democracy in Albania, and nine years after that, Kosovo's liberation from the conqueror of Kosovo took place. Today Albania is a NATO member and candidate country for EU membership, while Kosovo aspires to NATO and membership in the family of European values. Our national geostrategic orientation is impossible towards the EU, within NATO, and in deep and permanent friendship with the US. But experience has taught us Albanians that as much as we need to celebrate, at the same time we should reflect on the challenges we face and the obstacles we need to overcome. The world today is more uncertain than yesterday because of Russia's attack on Ukraine, aimed at NATO and the EU. The only state in the middle of Europe that remains linked to Russia is Serbia. Serbia does not hide its goal, which is the destabilisation of Kosovo and the actual division of our state, Serbia fights us from inside and outside, without choosing tools, from diplomacy to financing and controlling groups that are related to crime within our country. The closer Albania and Kosovo are to each other, the easier it will be to protect the vital interests of our nation. We will be able to mark future achievements as a nation, only if we combine the wisdom of Ukshin Hoti, the homeland of Adam Demach, the discretion of Fehmi Agani, the preparation of Gazmend Zajmi and the ingenuity of Arba Xhaferi”, he said.
