In the World Bank's Technology Maturity Index in Government (GTMI), Kosovo is classified in Group B of countries with considerable focus on digital governance.
In a Facebook post, Prime Minister Albin Kurti says this report is an indication of Kosovo's progress in the past two years.
The results that have been published today show the progress Kosovo has achieved in the last two years in the 48 key index indicators, which cover areas such as government systems, the main drivers of digitisation in government, and public service delivery”, Kurti wrote.
In advance measure of the GTMI index for 2020, Kosovo has been classified in Group C of countries with limited focus on digital governance.
The first of the Government says that such a report will be encouraging for more work.
Progress in this area should serve as additional encouragement for many jobs that await us in digitizing all sectors. The new strategy and action plan for electronic governance that are being prepared will provide the guide for the comprehensive advance of digitisation in government”.
Kurt said digitalization is the priority of his government.
“Digitalisation is one of the main pillars of our governing plan. We are committed to establishing the efficiency and transparency of public administration, as well as improving citizens' services and businesses”, it has written away from Kurti.
