In Vienna, Austria, the Economic Forum has been launched, in which high political and economic personalities from the region and the European Union are participating.
At the Austrian chief centre at the Vienna Economic Forum, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti spoke of economic developments in the country.
Prime Minister Kurti stressed that Kosovo's economy is growing rapidly, for which he praised democracy is strengthening.
Kurti at this forum cited economic growth, which, according to him, is the largest in the region, but also stopped on plans for clean energy investments of 4.5 billion euros.
Kosovo's economic growth (2021 year) is 10.7 percent, which was the highest in the region and the largest since the war. And we've had GDP growth by 4 percent and a number of strategic investments, which have increased 87 percent, and 88 percent export growth. So much has been done, but a lot remains to be done. Political stability has shown favour to our ambitions as well. But we do not want to keep this growth for the state, but to distribute to the people, and this year we have continued to increase and we want to stop the impact of inflation”, Kurti stressed.
According to him, the Kosovo government is planning investments of 4.5 billion euros for clean energy.
Kurti said that according to the energy strategy from 2031, Kosovo is expected to produce electricity of 400 megawatts from the wind or 35 per cent of total production.
The Kosovo government is currently planning 4.5 billion euros for clean energy in Kosovo. We want to take the Austrian and German model of dual education, which will overcome and become a professional bridge, so it's impossible to have an unprofessed economic growth. So we have to have work on the job market to get up-to-end sustainability... As far as renewable energy is concerned, our goal in the strategy is to continue with designing and efficient energy and protecting the consumer. We have a very ambitious strategy which is based on the Sofia Declaration, where by 2031 we want to produce electricity 400 megawatts from wind or 35 percent of total production. This year we have increased the budget for this sector and energy savings by about 6 percent. And from next year we will start with building re-newable energy projects”, Kurti stressed.
The prime minister also spoke of the Government's support for Kosovo citizens, through economic budgets and facing inflation, citing government measures supporting pensioners and students.
At the Vienna Economic Forum, Kurti also mentioned Kosovo's achievements in terms of the rank of justice, which according to him, Kosovo has been listed 17 countries higher. It also said that Kosovo has increased exports 33 per cent with Austria.
