Kremlin spokesman: Peace Is Impossible

Peace between Russia and Ukraine seems impossible. At a press conference, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed yesterday that hopes for a peace in Ukraine are dim. He also stressed that at the moment any dialogue between Russia and Ukraine is impossible because the talks have been completely rejected by the Ukrainian side. “special military operation continues”, the Russian official, who has blamed President Ukraine for the lack of negotiations, added.
The fight between Russia and the Ukrainian side has started on February 24th, and since that date continued hand-tightening efforts have been made, but something like that is not expected to happen in a near future. We remember that Western calls to Kiev about starting talks with Moscow have been ongoing.
The issue and the position of Ukraine have been clear. Ukrainian officials have stressed that Ukraine has never rejected talks with the Russian side, but something like that will happen only if Russian military troops leave Ukraine's territories. This one from the Russian side is unacceptable.
At this point, it is impossible to have negotiations between the parties. As a result, Russia will achieve its goals in Ukraine through the continuation of special military operation. Even though there has not been a Washington negotiating table so far, it has made several attempts to convince Zelensky to be co-operative with Russia.
Kiev, meanwhile, stresses that the situation is under control and rules out the possibility of total evacuation. Ukrainian forces are slowly pushing Russian troops to some areas east and south.
According to the UN, Russia's fight against Ukraine has killed at least 6,655 civilians and injured at least 10,368 people, which is thought to be unrealistic because many reports of civilian casualties have yet to be confirmed.
