With the presence of prime ministers Edi Rama and Albin Kurti, other members of the government cabinets of both states and other guests, the meeting began with the analysis of the Albanian national anthem and the anthem of the Republic of Kosovo.

Co-chairmen of this meeting, Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo Glauk Konjufca and the head of the Republic of Albania's Parliament, Lindita Nikola, in their welcoming speeches stressed the importance of this joint meeting as the cornerstone of a new tradition of interparliamentary co-operation.

Nikola, in her address, said this is a blessed day and that the Albanian community in the region must co-operate more to create not only a better future for Albanians, but for the entire region.

And we couldn't even dream of this moment because of the obstacles in history. Albania and Kosovo are today two independent states with big friends and allies and shared aspirations towards Brussels”, Nikola said, adding that the challenges of Albanians in the century that we entered are common.

The more co-ordinated the Albanian community progresses in the Balkans. The more stable the Albanian community, the more stable the Balkans and Europe will be. Our two frameworks should contribute to the area of legislation for a better life”, Nicolai stressed.

Konjufca, congratulating MPs and the entire Albanian nation for Flag Day, said 28th November holds all our collective dreams in its bosom, but also our shared aspirations, the long struggle for freedom, as well as our nation's great love.

This day, Chairman Konjufca added, has its entire symbol needed to keep us alive by the deepest emotions, the highest pride, the most determined readiness, and our most precious memories.

A single, clear and strong thread runs through our glorious history, from Skenderbe to Kruja, and through the proclamation of Albanian independence in Vlora to the KLA war. November 28th is Albania's as much as Kosovo's, since it is of all Albanians. Our national history is like a conscious substance that unfolds through 28 November“, we stressed Conjufca.

Recalling the birthday of Legendary Commander Adem Jashar and the first public appearance of the KLA, Konjufca said that the glorious liberation struggle of our people removed the Serbian occupier from Kosovo, and this paved the way for Kosovo's declaration of independence, just as a century ago the Prizren League gave way to Albania's declaration of independence.

The closer Albania and Kosovo are closer, the easier it will be to protect the vital interests of our nation“, the chairman of the Assembly said.

Pointing to the session, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, as he highlighted Albania's historic importance of independence 110 years ago, spoke of the common achievements and concrete plans that exist between the two states, in the post of strengthening co-operation and relations.

Kurti said Kosovo and Albania should be together more often.

We need to be together more often and not just on creams and not just on politicians. We need to work together, share ideas, accept criticism, so work together. Our public space, politics, culture and economics are not the closed-down tap conflict, but the common one, the fortress where we all put it from one stone”, the executive's first said.

According to him, Albania has made major steps forward, is a NATO member, has started negotiations with the EU, and has moved forward in many areas.

The head of the government said Kosovo enjoys Albania's successes and Albania enjoys Kosovo's successes.

We hope Albania's successes will not stop, but only increase every day. I am convinced that just as we and Albania rejoice in Kosovo”, Kurti said.

On behalf of the Albanian government, Prime Minister Edi Rama named today a beautiful day, adding that relations between Albania and Kosovo are not only excellent but also productive.

Rama also added that the two states should give the right place in books and public spaces to 40 firms of the Albanian Declaration of Independence.

He also stressed that the final recognition of Kosovo will come.

Kosovo will not wait as long as it has waited to be recognised and present in every instance of the world we live in. Relations between Albania and Kosovo today are not only excellent, but are also more productive than they have ever been. As long as we look at the commercial exchange data or the freedom of movement that until yesterday seemed impossible, or the joint abservary, or the joint work for encyclopedia”, Rama said
