Havenier: We're in crisis, it's time for ministers to travel

The head of the cabinet at the Ministry of Justice, Genc Nimoni, has reacted today to reports and questions from the media if Minister Albula Haxhiu was denied visas from the United States, which Periscope reported first. An answer to the issue has been given by the American ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey [...]
As Reporter has reported, at a meeting with journalists, Ambassador Havenier has said today that ministers are not good to travel abroad in times of crisis.
He has said they should engage within the country.
Hüvenier, answering the visa-related question for Minister Hadziu, has said it is not difficult for a minister to obtain an American visa, but for now, due to the crisis following events in the north, it is not the most appropriate time for ministers to travel to the US for official meetings.
“We are currently in a crisis, and it is our view that, we are extremely focused on this crisis, we believe that this government is also focused on this crisis, and we don't think it's probably the right time for ministers to be traveling to the United States for formal meetings in view of the crisis that needs to be addressed here. And that's what we're communicating to different government officials”, said Havener.
During the day, Hadziu's adviser, Nimoni has said the minister has not been denied visas by the US Embassy, as reported in the media.
Some media have asked questions and are reporting that the US Embassy has rejected a visa for Justice Minister Mrs. Albulen Haxhiu and visiting the United States has been cancelled. Such news, except that it is a lie and a slanderer, is biased and is aimed at distributing false information to senior officials of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo”, Nimoni wrote.
He has added that at the invitation of the American authorities, in December of this year, Minister Haxhiu plans an official visit to the United States, during which the visit will have official meetings with representatives of the US State Department, Justice and other institutions.
“On this visit, Minister Haxhiu will also be part of the global anti-corruption conference in Washington DC”, Nimoni wrote.
