Haradinaj refused request for health visits to another country

The specialised prosecutor has rejected Nasim Haradinaj's request that he pay a visit to another state for health reasons.

According to the prosecution, Haradinaj's defence has presented no information proving the alleged state of health or its severity, where it has acknowledged Haradinaj's own defence.

The alleged “emergency cannot serve as an excuse for the required relief, and despite the promise that a doctor would confirm the prognosis within 24 hours of the moment of request, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office has not accepted any support information for more than a week from the” presentation, the prosecution said.

Another clear point, according to the prosecution, showing the difference between this demand and previous visits is the fact that Haradinaj learns to travel towards a country that is not Kosovo.

Kosovo Specialised Chambers and Specialised Prosecutor's Office do not have permission to operate in [ E REDAKUED] as they can act in Kosovo because the third states are not obliged to co-operate as Kosovo is. There is no indication that the authorities have [ E REDAKUED] would enable the required visit by ensuring the detention measure for Haradinaj, and it is simply not possible to arrange it (regulated) urgently”, the prosecution has indicated.
