Foundation Court Continues Prison of Three Young People in 11 Year Old Case

These information has confirmed Mirlinda Gashi as spokeswoman at the Pristina Foundation Court.
“Referenced your request for information, we inform you that regarding this case, the Constitutional Court in Pristina, the Department of State, to bribe the November 22nd, 2022, has accepted the request by the State Prosecutor for continuing detention of three minors. While the two adults are expected to expire in detention by the 28th of this month, and the court has yet to accept a follow-up request from the prosecution.
“While indictees E.R. and the U.S. are located under detention until the date 28.11.2022, continued under the recent court ruling, and so far the court has rejected any request from the Prosecutor for continuing the detention measure”, Gashi concluded.
In a response Wednesday, the prosecution has confirmed that against the suspects it will seek continued the detention measure at the competent court.
The 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped for about seven hours on August 27th of 2022. The event that shocked Kosovo had started in the park in the neighbourhood of “Arberia” in Pristina to continue at another unknown location.
For this case, Kosovo Police Director General Samedin Mehmeti had resigned. The resignation had also given the Director of the Directorate for Treatment of Prisoners and Mytur, Ali Gashi.
A few days later, the Pristina Constitutional Prosecutor had announced the detention of several people under suspicion that 11-year-olds had been trafficked even in June of this year.
In the case of 11-year-old rape and trafficking, 13 people are in custody, in two separate cases.
