EU expects establishment of Association, return of Serbs to institutions

European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security spokesman Peter Stano has said after last night's agreement reached between Kosovo and Serbia on license plates also await the return of Serbs to Kosovo institutions and the establishment of association of Serb majority municipalities in Kosovo. “Of course we're working and working for one [...]
“Of course we have been working and working for a long time since the last crisis and the return of Serbs to Kosovo institutions was one of the fundamental expectations on the part of the European Union, the same thing for establishing the association of Serb majority municipalities in Kosovo”, Stano said.
Stano, at a media conference, said EU High Representative Josep Borrell has invited Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, to meet in Brussels and to continue working about normalising relations between the two sides.
Among other things, Stano said the deal reached last night would allow a new phase of handling issues steadily and to avoid the crisis.
It is important to implement the agreements that have been made in dialogue, and it is a message that the European Union has repeatedly sent to both sides and about the next step following that agreement made last night in Brussels, it is important to move on. The High Representative already showed and invited the two leaders in Brussels to work and continue working on normalising relations and continuing the EU-attensive dialogue, so work is certainly still under way and is not the end of the agreement registration process. This is the beginning of work that we hope will have come out of this permanent way of sowing the crisis and will bring us or will allow us to enter a new phase of handling issues steadily and avoid crisis” Stano said.
