The UN nuclear supervisor has confirmed that Ukraine's four nuclear power plants are reconnected to the national power grid after they completely lost energy abroad earlier this week.
In a statement, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said it was informed by Ukraine that its Rivne, South Ukraine and Kmilnytsky plants were reconnected. Energy has also been restored to Chernobyl, he said.
Ukraine's nuclear power firm, Energoatom, said on Wednesday that a number of units were shut down at the Pivdennoukrainsk nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine due to the loss of power during Russian air strikes.
The units also did not operate at the Khmetnytsky plant in western Ukraine, according to a local official. /abcnews. al
