In a letter to employees, which was seen by numerous media, the company said employees would be notified Friday whether they were fired or not. Electronic mail did not say how many people would lose their jobs.

Some employees wrote in the “Twitter” on Friday morning that they had lost access to the internal work system.

Electronic mail sent to staff stressed that job cuts were the “needed to ensure the company's success”.

Some 7,500 “Twitter employees have been waiting to leave since Mr. Musk took over the company's direction. The billionaire, who also owns the company “Tesla”, has dismissed the top directors, including Chief Executive Parag Agrowaal, who on the first day as owner of “Twitter”.

He also dismissed the company's board of directors and was deployed as the sole member of the board.

Since Thursday, Mr. Musk and the company “Titter” have not provided a public release on layoffs.

No announcement was made, although federal laws require employers to report whether they want to fire 500 or more employees.

Barry C. White, spokesman to the California Employment Development Department, said on Thursday the agency has not received any such announcement from the Twitter company.

A collective indictment has been handed over to the federal court in San Francisco on Thursday on behalf of an employee who was fired and three others whose access to their work accounts was blocked.

Running away from work at a difficult time as the willingness to pay for advertising is dropping and new platforms such as “Tik” are becoming more popular, risking the popularity of older social networks like “Twitter” and “Facebook”

In a post in the “Twitter” on Friday, while employees were learning if they had lost their jobs, Mr. Musk blamed activists for what he named a massive subx2> in income”, since he took the lead in “Titter” at the end of last week. He did not say how much money had been lost.

Large companies, including “General Motors”, “General Mills” and “Audi”, have banned all ads in “Twitter”, as they want to see what direction the company will take under the direction of Elon Musk.

He has tried to calm them down, but concern remains whether content control will remain as strict as it was until now and whether advertising at “Titter” can stain their products.
