Ends deadline for application, Serbian “List” participates in northern municipalities' elections

CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi, at a news conference on November 25th, has announced that today the period of application for the certificate of political subjects and candidates wanting to participate in the extraordinary elections for the heads of four municipalities in the country's north, which had started on 15 December.
The civic initiative Mitrovica has applied for certificate with its candidate in the North Mitrovica municipality's mayoral elections. The Democratic Party of Kosovo has handed over the names of four candidates for the certificate for the four municipalities' elections... The Party of Serbs in Kosovo (Kosovo) has applied for confirmation with its candidate in the Leposaviqi municipality's election for chairmanship. He's an independent candidate. The Vetevendosje movement has handed over the names of four candidate certificate candidates in the four municipalities' elections. Civic initiative “ (Srpski Opstanak) has applied for certificates with its candidate in the elections for the mayor of the North Mitrovica municipality, Elesi has announced.
Elez has added that after accepting applications, the CEC will address the country's relevant competent institutions to verify candidates if they are in line with the General Election Law.
Under the deadlines approved by the CEC, the decision-making process for the certificate of political subjects and candidates will take place until 28 November.
In application for extraordinary elections for mayors of four municipalities in northern Kosovo, the Serb List has not participated.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani later announced the extraordinary elections for chairmanship of the country's four northern municipalities on December 18th.
The Serbian List resigned from all institutions in Kosovo's northern municipalities, the resignation gave up its 10 deputies in the Kosovo Assembly, which had guaranteed seats. But, they were replaced on November 17th by nine others from the election list and the same political subject, as well as one from the electoral list of the civic Initiative for Freedom, Justice and Survival.

Resignment has also given members of the Serb community in the Kosovo Police in the country's four northern municipalities and in the judiciary.
The resignations followed after the suspension of Kosovo Police Director for the northern region, Nenad Djurovic, because he had declined to implement Kosovo Government measures for Serbian license plates.
The Kosovo government began implementing the decision to reregister vehicles with illegal license plates at RKS (Republishment of Kosovo) on 1 November, which was rejected by the northern Kosovo Serbs and official Belgrade.
Kosovo and Serbia have reached agreements on illegal Serb license plates in Brussels on November 23rd.
