Haradinaj's lawyer, Toby Cadman, told the Voice of America that he hopes to reduce the 4.5-year sentence on his client.
Many of them are actually being followed longer than two years. Some of them were investigated for years before they were sent to The Hague and charged. Nasim Haradinaj, whom I defend, has been sentenced this year. We have the appeals hearings on December 1st and 2nd. We expect a final decision early next year. In terms of major issues involving Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin and others, the court process has not yet begun”, he has declared.
Speaking to the other defendants being tried at The Hague, Cadman says that because of the indictment and the large number of witnesses, some processes, such as those against former Kosovo leaders Hashim Thaci and Kadri Wessel, could last 3 or 4 years. Mr. Cadman spoke to fellow Artan Haraqi.
