The village was built about the 1980s for the employees of the Hidrocentral plant, but after changing the system these dwellings could not be privatised by residents, and to this day, even though the doors of the cadastre run, residents do not have their own property.
The same situation took place for the Autochton people. Even though they're born here they have no property records. Construction of the Banja Hydro Power Plant affected several villages and parcels, whose owners were damaged.
Only in the village of Shtopagne, no one was injured because there was no property documentation.
