According to the prosecution, the defendant is charged that during wartime in Kosovo, in the period 1998-1999, he has committed torture in the Istog municipality against civilians: Mr. M, N.F. and N.C.
According to her, sufficient evidence has been provided in the investigation process that the suspect, along with several others, has committed the criminal act for which he is charged.
In the war fought in Kosovo in 1998/99, more than 13,000 civilians have been killed, and thousands more have disappeared.
Over 1,600 people continue to be found still, most of them Albanians.
Kosovo has declared independence in 2008 and is recognised by over 100 countries in the world.
Serbia does not recognise its independence, and in the Constitution it continues to consider it part of its territory. /Periksopi/
