According to the LDK community, he has requested further US support for NATO membership as soon as possible, as well as the conversion of Camp Bondsteel to a permanent American basis in Kosovo.
At this meeting, Mayor Abdixhiku expressed deep gratitude to the Defence Department for the contribution made to Kosovo in all historic stages. In particular, Mayor Abdixhiku praised the continued support the US Department of Defence giving to the Kosovo Security Force and the military capacities of the Republic of Kosovo.
At the Pentagon, President Abdixhiku requested further US support for realising the historic aspirations of the people of Kosovo for quicker NATO membership. At this meeting the LDK's demands and views on the Strategic Partnership Charter between the United States and Kosovo were laid down, as did the conversion of Camp Bondsteel to a permanent US basis in Kosovo”, the municipality said.
