Dorothy Hildebrand, a 72-year-old activist from Germany, cycled 8 thousand miles from Sweden at the Egyptian resort of Sharma el-Sheik on the Red Sea, where the COP 27. climate summit is being held.
The message was clear: Stop climate change!
The trip lasted more than four months on a pink bicycle that Dorothy Hildebrand calls Miss Piggy, according to the famous character of Muppet Show. It crossed Europe and the Middle East until it reached Sharma el-Sheik, south of the Sinai Peninsula.
Hildebrandt said her mission is to raise awareness and encourage world leaders gathered at the UN annual climate conference to take concrete steps to stop climate change.
Air gas emissions continue to increase, and scientists say that the amount of gases blocking heat must be halved by 2030 to meet the limits of temperature targets of the 2015 Paris climate agreement.
They just need to stop climate change,” said Dorothy Hildenbrandd after arriving at Sharma el-Sheikch a week ago and has been present at the summit ever since.
She has stayed at her friend's apartment, about 15 kilometers from the summit site, and every day comes by bicycle downtown, where she shares experiences with the same opinion and is aware of citizens.
