Veliu: Kurt is showing “music” to teachers, left them without a living

Democratic League of Kosovo MP (LDK), Agim Veliu, said Prime Minister Kurti and his cabinet are showing “to the teachers, saying the government punished them and “left the food of 20 thousand families” without food. Veliu wrote on Facebook on Tuesday that the “hope government” is showing the true face, saying that teachers' salaries will be bank hostage.
“In the time of higher inflation since post-war, price promotion and when the government of fraud is warning severe energy winters, most teachers will not receive salaries even in November. Their salaries will be bank hostage, paying two installments of credit and punitive interest. Therefore, more than ever reaction and civic pressure is needed on government and fraud so that teachers' salaries are immediately processed”, the LDK deputy wrote.
Education Minister Arberie Nagavci has again talked about teaching salaries for September, while on strike, saying that municipalities responsible for organising pre-university education have not reported to the Treasury Department in the Ministry of Finance, though they are under obligation.
For more than a year, we have held dozens of meetings with the SBASK chairmanship, we have begged them not to take thoughtless steps, since as Government, we have addressed many of the teachers' concerns, we have adopted new, increased budget policies for education. We've discussed with the SBASK's leadership whether it will compensate for teachers' salaries as it does in most other countries and since the law prohibits compensation for the hard work. No attention or caution in this regard, rather a month of strike, too much damage for children, no caution from employers, too much noise from those responsible for the situation in which education is located”, Nagavci wrote on Facebook this Tuesday.
