Diana Metushi from KDI spoke of the serious problems MS has had with public money management and the agreement with the United Nations Project Services Office (UNOPS).
According to her, in four cases products were bought up to 200% more expensive by UNOPS than by MSh and so on U n NOPS has awarded contracts to the company that was on the blacklist.
“Despite continued budget increases for the health sector, auditing of MS financial mirrors highlights serious problems in public money management, where this ministry during 2021 had spent only 54% of its budget, which was a 9% reduction against the spending of a preliminary year”.
“MS has reached agreement with UNOPS on the management of the Kosovo Emergency Coddy-19 project, UNOPS as the manager of funds destined for the purchase of pandemic products from the Kosovo Government loan with the World Bank has failed several times to achieve the best value for public money”.
“in four cases products were bought more expensive by UNOPS than by SKKKUK and MSH. The price of these products is two ʹ 200% more expensive, UNOPS also awarded contracts to the company, which has been on the blacklist”, Metushi said.
MP PDK, Bekim Haxhiu, said that the MS has been abusing the purchases from the dorsals, disinfectors, to the purchase of bags for corpses from Ovid-19, EO reports.
