The Volssian Chamber has been cast into Group B, along with England, the United States of America, and Iran.
But it may be the last time we see them on the international stage by that name.
According to “Daily Mail”, Wales is considering the possibility of being named “Cymru” globally.
Cimmru is the name Wells, which is widely used in the country and at this country's football headquarters as well, but Wales is the name used by the rest of the world.
A decision will not be made without consultation as the initial informal discussions with W. EFA on this change.
“Ekipi must always be called Cymru, so we call it”, said the chief executive of the Wales Football Federation, Noel Money.
Our view at the moment is that within the country we are clearly called Cymru. That's what we call our national teams. If you look at our website, as we speak of ourselves, we're very Cymru. Internationally, we think we have a little more work to do. So we're going to go to this world like Wales”, he added.
But, I think the year 2023 will be a year when we have a good discussion with all the different actors be it by our governments, our boards, decision-making councils, staff, club and players”, Mooney said.
Alphabetically, Wales is the last of 55 U members EFAs and that would certainly change dramatically if they passed through the Cymru.
If that were to happen, Welles would follow the precedent set by Turkey, which is now being presented as "Tourkiye."
