Target problem: What awaits Kosovo in four days? Few records, EU America demands postponement, Kurti tells them no.

Since 1 August 2022, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo approved the decision to enable registration of vehicles with RKS plates, as well as decision to cross the state border by citizens with personal documents issued by Serbia's authorities. The decision had validity until September 31, 2022. Even the government announced that <x0ved [...]
“The U.S. has had no concern with the decision. I have had a meeting with President Osmani, Prime Minister Kurti, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi and Foreign Minister Grovall to make a clear request from the US government to postpone implementation of the decision for 30 days. I think pushing implementation would be important, as there seems to have been disinformations and misunderstandings about the decision. We hope to work with our EU partners to reduce tensions. We are not asking for the annulment of the decision to be clear, but postponing”, US Ambassador Havenier, who has expressed concern for tensions in the north, said.
Kosovo Prime Minister, Albin Kurti withdrew from his decision After the US and EU demand, pushing its implementation for 30 days.

What happened next?
The head of the government along with Interior Affairs Minister Jedal Svecla repeatedly called on Kosovo Serb citizens to register their cars with RKS signs from illegal KM, PZ, GL, PR, UR, but apparently did not have any impact on them.
So far, RKS vehicle plates have only converted 18 Serbian citizens. Now, when there are four days left of the deadline for registration of license plates RKS, tensions have begun to surface again.
Serbia's president, Alexander Vuciq, has called the National Council for Security on Thursday, where he has commented on reregistering Serbian citizens' license plates in Kosovo. He called on Serbs in Kosovo “peacefully resist Kosovo authorities”. He added that Serbia's “state will not allow the violence or murder of its people.
“There will be no repeat of 2004, nor will there be any similar action”, Vuciq said.
Reactions come back from the US and the EU, where US Ambassador Jeff Havenier says the US state is not satisfied with the deadline for registering vehicles with RKS license plates, asking to delay the deadline for 10 months.
It's very clear that there hasn't been much demand to do that so far. The United States government believes that the Kosovo Government's decision to allow people living in Kosovo to drive vehicles that are registered in Kosovo is not an unreasonable requirement and that this decision is in line with the Brussels accords, but we have expressed concerns from the beginning and continue to express for the timeline of implementation” has declared Hovier for Rtv Kim, Periscopi forward.
On the other hand, the European Union has once again reiterated the call to Kosovo and Serbia for the coming days to refrain from actions that could lead to the escalation of the situation and that the European bloc with partners is intensively continuing to find a solution to the license issue.
This EU stance comes hours after Serbian List The main party of Serbs in Kosovo warned of the establishment of barricades, should Kosovo, after 31 October, seize Serb license plates or vehicles.

After October 31st, Kosovo has declared that these cars estimated to be close to 10,000 will not be allowed to circulate on state territory, nor cross the border.
Will Prime Minister Kurti step down for a second time after US and EU demands
Today, Prime Minister Kurti says there will be no additional deadline for Serbian citizens to convert their plates to RKS. He has said that already a postponement has been made.

We've already made a deadline extension. Instead of being September 30th, the last date is October 31st, where all Kosovo citizens who have hugely old license plates can convert them to legitimate plates. I call on all the citizens that those cars are with those plates convert to legitimate plates. The vast majority of Serbs in Kosovo have converted the plates”, Kurti has said.
We remember that Prime Minister Kurti, on the last day of his first decision, heard the United States of America put off a 30-day deadline.
