Tahiri: Kosovo membership in NATO means more security in Balkans, less influence by Russia and China

Kosovo is born and lives with NATO, we want to be part of NATO!

Today, we are here to deliver a message, that despite being in opposition and having disagreements with Government, when it comes to NATO membership, the partnership for peace and international agenda, we are together. There are many things that divide us, but when it comes to these issues, we are united.

I wanted to say a few words, to convey to you, because we have not seen a greater favor than your presence here today.

First, we are very aware of how important peace and stability is, because we have gone through a terrible war, suffered a great number of victims, heroes, martyrs, we are proud of our history and we are very proud that the Kosovo Liberation Army with the help of NATO managed to fight and reverse the recent aggression of the Milosevic regime in 1999.

The second issue is related to your mission's statement aimed at ensuring the freedom and security of allies through political and military means.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are born with NATO, we live with NATO today and we want to be part of NATO. This is my message to you. Our army has been working with your troops since the first day, whether you accept Kosovo or not. Two years ago, nobody would believe what's going on in Ukraine would happen. Our border with Serbia and the aggression they have in their constitution against our country is very serious.
