The Social Justice and Socio-economic Rights Coalition has reacted by expressing concern with the Kosovo Treasury/The Ministry of Finance, Labour and Transfers' announcements sent to union organisations concerning the registration of union members at the E-Kosovo portal.
The report said union members should register on E-Kosovo platform as well as confirm the bank's data from September 15th to September 21st.
After this period of time has passed, unions have been interrupted by the membership quota unilaterally meaning membership without the will of members.
The coalition considers that this announcement is contrary to the Constitution, the Law for Union Organising and international Standards, which regulate freedom of association and union organisation.
This coalition claims government announcement has violated these constitutional, legal and international standards provisions.
Constitution: Freedom to establish unions and organise in order to protect interests is guaranteed. Limitation of this right can be done by law for specific categories of employees.
Law: Under the union organisation law, the union statue is the union's highest judicial act, with which the field is regulated and defined, fundamental work principles, union organisation, rights and tasks of members, as well as the composition and functioning of the union governing bodies.
The coalition considers that the government's move is unilateral, without consulting at all with union organisations, contrary to the Constitution, the Law on Union Organisation and international standards.
So the Coalition wants the government immediately to withdraw from such unilateral and illegal acts, and immediately compensate for your unpaid membership quotas in this period.
