The voting and counting process has been completed for the election of the leader of the Freedom Party and members of the PL Steering Committee.
Ilir Meta was the only candidate for party leader and thus has been elected and officially leader of the Freedom Party.
In a statement to the media, PL Public Relations Secretary Silva Caka announced that 722 delegates have participated in the vote, out of whom 719 voted for Meta and 3 delegates voted against.

The votes for Freedom Party Chairman and members of the National Steering Committee opened at 12:55 and closed at 18:15. The votes were conducted in full line with Statut's standards and with the decisions of the Freedom Party Election Commission.
No irregularities were filed during the voting process, and the process was closed after voting even the latest delegate.
The Freedom Party Election Commission has also completed verifying respect for gender equality and youth representation, according to the proportions envisioned in Statut.
722 delegates have participated in the vote.
In the vote for the Chairman of the Freedom Party, 722 delegates participated, of whom 719 voted in the candidate for Freedom Party chairman Mr. Ilir Metaj and 3 delegates voted against it.
As a result, the Freedom Party Election Commission declares the winner in the post of Party Chairman Mr. Ilir Metaj.
In the vote for members of the National Steering Committee, 722 delegates participated and after verifying and calculating the results, in accordance with the Convention's decision, 236 members of the National Steering Committee -- which are added to the number of five members, who are without a vote (ex-officio), including the 4 deputies of the Freedom Party and the head of the Youth Movement for Integration. In conclusion, a special thanks goes to delegates from all over Albania for the readiness shown in a relatively long process, due to the high number of candidates for members of the National Steering Committee.
