Shpend Ahmeti: If I were in government, I'd start preparing citizens for what's coming

Former Pristina leader Shpend Ahmeti has said that if he were instead of Prime Minister Albin Kurti, he would now start preparing citizens for the agreement with Serbia. According to Ahmeti, Kurti will be forced to reach a compromise with Serbia, where he cannot win everything he wants.

If I were in the government I'd start preparing citizens for what's coming. There's no win-win chance, that's compromise. We have to find a middle, which damages our state”, Ahmeti said at “DPS at Fidan”.

Speaking of Kurti's opportunities and his approach to dialogue with Serbia, which is expected to bring a final agreement, Ahmeti has said Kurti must be ready for compromise, given that he has entered negotiations.

If you're not willing to compromise, then don't go into negotiations. Since he's gone to negotiations, he's ready with six. Albin's personal interest is also power... I expect it will compromise and choose the least bad option for Kosovo”, he has said.

Ahmeti has said Kurt can also discuss association.

Ahmeti has also criticised the opposition, saying she should not expect the government's wrong decisions to bring it down without having in mind the damage it can become state.

If I were in the government, and I would pray... ... theshallah... acceptsthe Association that we're going down, then what is this Kosovo? You can't pray if there's no power this winter that we can take it down. Even the VV is helping this situation”, he said further.

Ahmeti has said that Kosovo in dialogue with Serbia must choose between status-quoʹ, the establishment of territories and the Association of Serb majority municipalities.

He has said it is the obligation and in the mandate of this government to target an agreement with Serbia.

Despite all, according to Ahmeti, Kosovo will not lose the US as a partner.

I don't see the position they say. Come on. NATO. They can make trouble with other things”, he stated.
