Despite international demand for a 10-month extension, Kurti is saying that October 31st is the last date when Serbs are able to convert their signs to RKS.
Regarding this issue and the process of dialogue, as well as the achievement of the final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, the connoisseur of the situation in the Balkans and American analyst Daniel Cerwer has spoken.
According to him, Prime Minister Kurti with the Targa decision is exercising Kosovo's sovereignty.
But he adds that he must be prepared to face possible consequences.
“Kurti is exercising Kosovo's sovereignty. I hope he's prepared to face the consequences. Of course I understand his impatience I even suggested 10 minutes are too long. But to be fair only works if the move you make doesn't create bigger problems”, Serwer said of Frontonline.
While, in terms of frequent visits by Emisaries and top international officials to Kosovo, University Professor John Hopkins in Washington, Daniel Cerwer has declared this is being done to make progress in the dialogue process.
But, he adds, both Pristina and Belgrade are looking unprepared for compromises.
Kosovo's “My friends are trying to encourage progress in dialogue. This is their job and I wish them success. However, it is not clear that they are producing those kinds of answers in Belgrade that would enable Pristina to respond reciprocally. Both capitals seem unprepared for compromise”, he has indicated.
