The new school year was to begin officially on September 1st, but that was not because of the SBASK strike.
MA THE report on the start of the new school year congratulates all students and educators for the new school year. The ministry calls on municipal education directors to ensure that the education process is maintained.
While the SBASK has warned that there will be no replacement of lost hours, Minister Arberie Nagavci has announced that the ministry she heads will form a working group today to review Administrastration Guide for the School Year Calendar and on its basis will become re-plants in schools.
The Education Ministry has also announced that all textbooks in municipalities and schools are distributed according to the requirements of municipal education directors, while the Albanian language text, fifth grade, the new text drafted this year, will be sent to schools within this week.
The education strike was launched on August 25th, with demands for an additional 100 euros until the actual introduction of the wage law, which has been rejected by the Government, which has offered a 50-euro solution, with the promise that such a thing will be seen to continue even next year depending on the inflation rate.
The SBASK on Saturday decided to suspend the strike until January next year.
The wage bill, from September 15th to October 6th, is in public consultations procedures. It should then be approved in Government and Parliament and published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Kosovo. The law goes into effect eight months after publishing in the Official Journal.
