Chairman of the United Education Union, ( The SBASAK, Nundman Jasharaj, told Telegrafi that unless wages are processed by October 5th, we can return to strike.
Meanwhile, the Government action has called it “thic behind its back”.
“We named this as the knife in the back of Kurti Government, as we thought of it to begin and Government will have a positive message for the start of the school year, they also made a violation of the laws. This has stopped wages for now for education workers who were on strike, but not for civil servants who were with us on strike within the BSPK. As of October 5th, the International Teachers' Day is tomorrow, this is Kurt's gift to this day that in the entire globe, teachers in Kosovo are free of salaries”, he said.
According to Jasaraw, this government action calls it a wish for the latter to continue strikes and conflicts.
There is no way we can read it other than that the Government is willing to strike in Kosovo because no government in the world would do so, immediately after the start of the school year and the break of strike”, Jasharaj said.
The first SBASK did not fail to comment on the statement of Education Minister Arberie Nagavci, who has declared that wages will only be processed for those who have worked.
Jasharaj said Nagavci is creating divisions among teachers by rewarding those who have been persuaded to interrupt the strike and punishing others for its respect.
“Minister Nagavci did not act a day as Minister of Education, rather than divisive and insulting statements has had to feel bad that the entire education sector is on strike. Nagavci went to school in school during the strike, where he thought words were going to break the strike and now as everyone's minister wants to make divisions in schools and reward those teachers who interrupted the strike and punished and respected strike”, he stressed.
Jasharaj further added that if salaries for educators are not processed by October 5th, SBASK membership will be gathered and cannot guarantee who will not return the strike.
This is our government that we chose, because 51 percent of the votes were not taken out of education, many of my colleagues voted for this government, which is thus rewarding them. With these actions these men are wanting the strike to continue and this is the wrong approach, I wish it could process wages, because it doesn't guarantee what's going to happen. On the contrary, we'll call out to SBASK's bodies and talk about the next steps, and without our wish there may be demands that the strike return. Whatever decision SBASK membership takes I will respect despite the people of the government, saw who is guilty, Jasharaj is not guilty of”, he stated.
Chairman Jasharaj also stressed that they cannot accept money from parents who have offended and threatened them during the strike.
I appreciate it, but it's not a choice when the parents' council comes out with the announcement that it will supposedly raise money to pay the teachers. We don't need charity, but the money we owe. We don't want money from parents who insult us and threaten us because some of them are going to go to school and they're going to wear out the spirit of teachers telling you to work, you shut your mouth, because I gave you a lot of it, and they're done.
