Russia's Nebenja confuses Serbs from the UN: Are they abandoning us?

The experienced Russian diplomat, Vassiliy Nebenzya, in his speech to the UN Security Council forgotten, deliberately or not, to mention the word “as” Kosovo, writes Serbian medium B92, passes Periscopi. This raised the dilemma whether Russia has changed its rhetoric. Blic writes that Nebenzja is at this Security Council session dedicated to so-called Kosovo, as expected, alongside Serbia, but with a milder rhetoric and a smaller tone.
All of this might not have been so important if Russia's representative did not insist on earlier addressing what he called the southern Serbian provincial strategy and if he had not protested aloud to anyone who during the discussions connected Kosovo with any form of citizenship.
However, the last time Kosovo, for Vasilij Nebenza, was Kosovo-and the rhetoric was mainly about issues that do not affect Pristina's citizenship, the paper writes.
Because, as can be seen in media reports to this session, the Russian representative to the UN did not miss the opportunity to name false citizenship of Kosovo.
Five years earlier, in 2017, he had predicted that the <x0 project of the Republic of Kosovo” was meant to fail. He went on that way three years later, and in 2020, he had warned then Minister of Foreign Affairs Melza Haradinaj- Staubla, who would be expelled from the meeting if Kosovo's symbols were displayed at the next meeting.
This year, the situation has changed dramatically. In his 10-minute speech, Nebenzja cited Kosovo about 20 times, but in no case did he mention the so-called “file” Kosovo, not even the false “states”, nor the “project”, which so far were qualities coming from the mouth of the Russian representative.
“Russia first looks at its own interests, and Kosovo uses bribery as precedents with the West. Serbia has nothing to gain from this, in addition to the illusion Russia is defending territorial integrity by preventing Ukraine's”, Suzana Grubjesic from the Centre for Foreign Policy in Serbia said. /Periscopi/
